I have been enjoying some lovely time off from shooting lately while things are still hustling and bustling behind-the-scenes. It’s also been great catching up on some reading {Annie Leibovitz at Work} and album design. I thought I would show off a few spreads from some new sample albums I’ve been working on.
I have a very clean design aesthetic…I like to let the images speak for themselves + not get caught up in over-designed layouts that will look dated in five years. Negative space is a very good thing, and along with fashion and makeup philosophy, less is always more.

Happy 2009 everyone! We kicked off our new year photographing the super-fun, super-cold wedding of Shannon and Travis. These two are winter-lovers through and through. They met while on ski patrol together at Rib Mountain, and appropriately, had their big day on a classic Wisconsin winter day. Despite the frigid temperatures (and the ice storm we drove home in!), we had a wonderful time! Shannon and Travis’s families were SO much fun! They are all winter lovers; very passionate skiiers and snowboarders. Shannon’s dad kept talking about doing a “Schotzke.” It wasn’t until I actually saw the Schotzke that I realized it was a Shot-ski!!!!
Vendor love: Gorgeous florals by { Evolutions in Design }, the ever-fabulous cake by { Sweet Nothings Cakes } (to-die-for-fondant…Terri did our wedding cake too and it was AMAZING!), + the reception venue { Willow Springs Garden }.
