As you all know by now, I grew up in the Kettle Moraine near Lapham Peak, aka one of southeastern Wisconsin’s most cozy places to hang out on a fall weekend! Kate and Josh arrived ready to explore the woods with me, and really just be their sweet selves! (Yes, yes, today is May 1st…but hey, I warned you I was hoarding some great stuff. :) )
Their story began in high school in Sheboygan, meeting their freshman & sophomore years. Over the years they’ve been apart at times, but discovered ultimately that they were meant to be together. My absolute favorite high school story revealed during our shoot proved to be about Kate driving her brand new Jeep into Lake Michigan within days of getting her license!!! This makes me incredibly interested to meet her parents, since they’ve obviously got to be two of the coolest people ever for not grounding her for life!
We spent a lot of our time talking about how we could endlessly watch ‘Friends’ reruns and how the 90’s were a simpler time, something I never imagined saying at the ripe young age of 32. Oh, the 90’s! Back when stores existed to sell your CDs, friends wrote notes to each other instead of texting, and gas was under a dollar a gallon at one point! Between Ross’ spray tanning & ‘Nes-lay Toulouuuuse,’ my belly hurt from laughing by the end of the night. Keep an eye out for these two and their wedding this August at The Osthoff, and in the meantime, get lost in their engagement photos…xo
